Abstract
The surface of the insulator body of an electric high-voltage insulator is covered with at least a semiconductive layer having a surface resistivity of 1-1000 M OMEGA /square, and wherein the outermost layer mainly consists of a polymeric material. The semiconductive layer can consist of said polymeric material and contain conductive and/or semiconductive particles distributed therein. As an alternative, the semiconductive layer is provided between the insulator body and the outermost layer which consists mainly of a polymeric material.
