Abstract

The invention relates to a light fitting comprising at least one light unit (26) for use in a refrigerator or freezer space, said space having at least one door arrangement (5, 7, 15, 16, 17; 6, 8, 15, 16) of the type found in convenience goods stores for display of merchandise (11). The door arrangement (5, 7, 15, 16, 17; 6, 8, 15, 16) comprises at least one door opening (5; 6) and at least one door post (1). The light fitting is located along the door post (1) on the side (3) facing the refrigerator or freezer space and comprises a frame (21) and at least one essentially transparent holder (24), which is attached to the frame (21) in a manner allowing it to be moved aside. In the attached position, the holder (24) forms a cover above the light unit (26), which cover essentially seals against the frame (21), and the light unit (26) is attached to the holder (24). The holder (24) is hingedly mounted for movement between an inwards pivoted position wherein the holder (24) forms said cover over the light unit (26) and an outwards pivoted position, wherein the light unit (26) is accessible for facilitating servicing and like measures, and the hinge (25) of the holder (24) is spaced from the door post (1).
