Abstract

A bundle tie comprises an elongate band member (1) and a locking head (2) connected to one end of the band member. The locking head has a throughgoing slit, which has a bottom portion (16) of essentially the same width and the same height as the band member, and a mouth portion (15) tapering towards the bottom portion. The band member and the bottom portion have cooperating locking teeth (5, 17). The mouth portion of the slit tapers from a width which is greater than the width of the band member, to a width which is smaller than the width of the band member. At least one side of the mouth portion of the slit comprises a cantilever resilient flap (7, 8), which, by lateral resilience, allows insertion of the band member in its entire width through the mouth portion of the slit to the bottom portion of the slit and, by spring back, accomplishes retention of the band member in the bottom portion.
