Abstract

The hose (2) is emptied of its contents of blood into the blood container (1) by being pressed together and is refilled with mixed blood from the container. The device comprises an apparatus housing (3), an unloading surface (4) on which the blood container is placed for sampling, a hose emptying device (5) comprising two rollers (6) working against each other, a drive unit (13) for driving one or both rollers and a control system (15) for controlling the drive unit. The drive unit comprises a start sensor (16) which monitors when a hose end is pushed into the hose emptying device and starts the drive unit. The hose end is then drawn in between the rollers and is simultaneously pressed together. A stop sensor (17) monitors when the complete hose is fed through the emptying device and stops the drive unit. A changeover unit (18) reverses the drive unit to a feed-back direction for the hose.
