Abstract

The present invention relates to a supportive structure (1) for supporting a roll stand arrangement which includes a roll unit (10), two drive spindles (15, 16), a pinion stand (12) and a drive unit (13), which are built together to form a single assembly unit. According to the invention, the supportive structure (1) is intended to support the roll stand arrangement either in a horizontal position or in a vertical position. Because one and the same supportive structure can be used to support a roll stand arrangement either horizontally or vertically, the construction of a rolling mill line is simplified.
