Abstract

A sawing device has a substantially horizontally arranged circular-saw blade (1) and a conveyor means (2a, 9a, 9b, 10a, 2b, 9a, 9b, 10b) which is adapted to move a log, to be sawn into boards or planks, back and forth past the saw blade (1) parallel to a straight line (L) contained in the plane of the saw blade and passing through its centre. The conveyor means comprises a first conveyor device (2a, 9a, 9b, 10a) which is adapted, for sawing the log, to move it past the saw blade (1) in one direction on one side of the straight line (L), and a second conveyor device (2b, 9a, 9b, 10b) which is adapted, for sawing the log, to move it past the saw blade (1) in the other direction on the other side of the straight line (L).
