Abstract

A device for moving roofs, especially on goods vehicles, comprises a length adjustable driving mechanism (13), which, by compression of the roof in the longitudinal direction, causes movement of the roof in a transverse direction which is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The roof is especially a car cover, and the driving mechanism (13) preferably comprises a piston/cylinder unit acting in the longitudinal direction of the roof.
