Abstract

A brake device, preferably intended for railway trains, of the type which comprises brake cylinders and brake valves. The brake cylinder 3 is double-acting and interacts with the brake valve 5, the compressed-air- balanced piston 6 of which, in its respective end positions, conducts the compressed air to the required side of the piston 4 of the brake cylinder. The compressed-air-balanced piston 6 is provided at both ends with recesses or ducts which connect the non-pressurized side of the piston of the brake cylinder to the atmosphere. <IMAGE>
