Abstract
Device for securing an earthworking or mining tool, e.g. a core barrel, a roller bit or the like, inside a pipe (2) sunk in the ground. The tool is formed with arms (11) for engaging with first members (5) which are provided on the inside of the pipe and prevent the axial displacement of the tool in the pipe during the working. In this arrangement, the arms, for radial movement to the inside in the pipe, can be disengaged from the first members by a catch device lowerable into the pipe, so that the tool can be pulled out of the pipe by the catch device. At least three arms are provided which are distributed essentially at equal distances apart over the periphery of the tool, each arm having a first surface (11b) for engaging with the first members (5) and at least one second surface (11c) for engaging with second members (6, 7) which are provided on the inside of the pipe (2) and prevent rotation in the peripheral direction of the tool of that part of the tool on which the arms are arranged, the second members being designed and distributed over the periphery of the pipe in such a way that, during movement of the arms radially outwards in the pipe, irrespective of the relative rotational position between the aforesaid part of the tool and the pipe, at least one of the arms always assumes the position for engagement with the first members, and all arms, at least ...
