Abstract
The present invention relates to a method of purifying 2,2',4,4',6,6'-hexanitrostilbene HNS by recrystallizing a contaminated crude product using N-methylpyrrolidone as the solvent. By a variant of the invention, the relative density of the resulting crystals can be increased by means of an ultrasonic treatment.
