Abstract

A container 1 for storing liquids, pasty substances or the like in a closed chamber 10 without contact with ambient air is provided with a lid 2 which seals the storage chamber 10 in an airtight manner and which is arranged such that it is displaceable upwards or downwards in the container 1. To allow the substance in question to be fed into and out of the container 1, the storage chamber 10 communicates with a duct 8, which at its mouth end outside the container 1 is provided with a non-return valve 12. The container 1 can be filled or emptied via this duct 8 through movement of the lid 2 in the one or other direction in the container 1. <IMAGE>
