Abstract

The cylinder (1) involved has circular or oval bore, and a longitudinal solt (2) through which a driver connected to a piston moving in the cylinder extends. The slot is closed on opposite sides of the piston by a strip (6) running through the piston, and the piston itself, being provided with a sealing sleeve. A theoretical circle or oval inscribed in the cylinder bore and along its wall is unaltered in shape by teh cylinder wall, and the strip (6) is bevelled (10) at its edges on the sides facing the cylinder wall.
