Abstract

The present invention relates to a storage arrangement 1 for storing environmentally dangerous substances 2 such as, for example, of the stable toxic compound type or of the long-lived nuclear substance type etc., and which comprises a number of cavities 6 in a rock, which are intended for receiving the substances 2 in question, with a roof 8 over said cavities, the cavities 6 in question being surrounded by a hydraulic barrier 7. The invention makes it possible inter alia to obtain a passive dry store. Receiving cavities for storage are formed by drilled vertical holes 6 which extend to a level 10 lying above an underlying drainage and ventilation zone 11. The hydraulic barrier 7, which is displaced laterally in relation to the storage boreholes 6, and laterally located ventilation holes 12 are connected to the underlying drainage and ventilation zone 9. <IMAGE>
