Abstract

The invention relates to a safety device to prevent the freezing up of air systems, preferably in road motor vehicles having air brakes. In the compressed air system there is incorporated in the pipe, behind an air drier, a moisture content sensor unit carrying out a continuous measurement and having an electrical moisture sensor onto which the air stream blows, which sensor is connected to an electronic unit for processing the signal and detecting the threshold value indicating the hazard, with the electronic unit being connected to a signal transmission unit at which the continuous moisture content values and/or alarm signals appear.
