Abstract

The invention relates to a tensioning device for a return spring of a motor-vehicle internal shoe brake. It can be used in the construction of vehicles and machines. The object is to provide a movable and adjustable point of action for the brake-shoe return force so as to allow the return spring to be installed in the unstressed condition and without additional aids. The solution to the object consists in that arranged between in each case two parallel brake-shoe webs of two opposing brake shoes is a movable tensioning device consisting of two bearing elements, a lifting element situated eccentrically between these, and an adjusting element, and that, in the tensioned condition of a U-shaped return spring secured in its central portion there is a bearing surface arranged on the ends of the limbs of the return spring for contact with a retaining surface of the lifting element. <IMAGE>
