Abstract

A sensitive element of a surface ionization pick-up for a halogen leak detector comprises coaxially mounted a platinum spiral anode (1) and a cathode (2). The spiral anode (1) consists of two consecutively connected different-temperature sections (3 and 4). The sections (3 and 4) have, respectively, a higher and a lower temperatures. The section (3) of the anode (1) in the surface ionization pick-up is located at an outlet opening (5) of a casing (6) of the pick-up. The cathode (2) is located on the side (4) of the anode (1).
