Abstract

A device for a sedimentation tank or similar installation serves for shifting and removing deposited sediment and/or sludge from the bottom of the tank, where a conveyor is placed, which can be moved forwards and backwards along the bottom of the tank and thereby move sediment and/or sludge towards one end of the tank in order to collect the sludge there. The conveyor comprises a mat 7 with a number of elements 8, each of which has a wedge-shaped cross-section and is fitted largely perpendicular to the direction of displacement of the conveyor with the wedge tip 9 pointing towards the rear short side 4 of the tank 1 and the base of the wedge 10 towards the front short side 5 of the tank 1. <IMAGE>
