Abstract

This invention relates to a liquid collecting device for pumps having a shaft or spindle packing and a casing surrounding said packing. To permit the liquid collecting device to catch all liquid which leaks or splashes out in different directions from the shaft packing said device comprises a sleeve or the like (1) which is made of a flexible, preferably elastical sheet material and has a channel- shaped or tubular outlet (8). In its operative position said sleeve encloses at least substantially the entire circumference of the casing surrounding said packing and preferably also projects outside of one end surface thereof. <IMAGE>
