Abstract

A packaging container for detachably storing and displaying e.g. a hand tool comprises a transparent compression moulded part forming an upwardly open cavity (25). The packaged article is retained by respective packaging parts (28,28') which are relatively easy to deform elastically when subjected to a downwardly acting force, but more difficult to deform elastically when subjected to an upwardly directed force. A cardboard stiffening strip may be located on the underside of the moulded part. The container enables an article to be packaged with the aid of an automated machine, and further permits the article to be readily removed from and replaced in the container without damaging the container. <IMAGE>
