Abstract

An installation switch or key which operates by means of a contact arrangement which is arranged in a narrow, rectangular housing base, two identical contact parts (2 and 3), which have contact arms (4 and 5) extending in the lateral direction, being inserted in the housing base, rotated through 180 DEG with respect to one another, so that the contact arms are located vertically one above the other, spaced apart. Located on the opposite side of the housing base is a bearing contact (6) having a web (8) for supporting the contact rocker (9). This contact arrangement forms the basic module for a changeover switch which can also be used as a single-pole on/off switch. The other normal installation switches, such as two-pole on/off switches, double changeover switches, series or intermediate switches are constructed from the basic module. In this case, such basic modules are combined and provided with a suitable housing cover. The housing base is provided with openings (10 and 11), which are arranged in two planes one above the other, for connection of leads and for the contact links (12, 13 and 14) which are required in the case of series and intermediate switches (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
