Abstract

This ball bearing is designed mainly for use under high temperature. It comprises spacing elements 4 made from graphite which are substantially T-shaped, arranged between the balls 1 of a row of balls and curved to the shape of the pitch diameter of the row of balls. The vertical part of the T is interposed between two balls parallel to the axis of rolling and the horizontal part of the T is arranged on the side of the row of balls, all these horizontal parts of a row of balls being situated on the same side of the row of balls and forming an annulus which corresponds to the pitch circle of a row of balls. Flanges 7 mounted on one of the races of the roller-contact bearing prevent the spacing elements from falling out of the rolling-contact bearing. The spacing elements are produced from a bar-shaped blank having a T-shaped transverse section, which is cut into the required lengths with the aid of a cutting member, which reduces a circular cylindrical cut surface. <IMAGE>
