Abstract

An ignition system for internal combustion engines with a magnetic generator is proposed, the control circuit of which is dimensioned in such a way that it can be realised as a full hybrid in thick-film technology on a substrate with bonded-on semiconductors. For this purpose, the ignition switching element (16) in the primary circuit is switched over by a control switching element (20) into the inhibited state at the ignition time, in which state the positive voltage half waves, used for ignition, of the magnetic generator (10) in the primary circuit charge a first control capacitor (22) via a resistor (24) and a threshold value switch (23), which control capacitor (22) switches over the control switching element (20) via a coupling resistor (21). A circuit branch with a second control capacitor (25) with a series resistor (26) which can only be charged by negative voltage half waves in the primary circuit is connected in parallel with the first control capacitor (22) and the threshold value switch (23) in such a way that the positive pole of the second control capacitor (25) is connected to the terminal of the threshold value switch (23) which is remote from the first control capacitor (22) (Fig. 1). The ignition system can be used for all spark-ignition internal combustion engines which have a magnetic generator and an inductive energy store for supplying the ignition system. <IMAGE>
