Abstract

In order to control a stepping motor, whose windings (1) are initially subjected to a first high, unstabilised voltage and then to a second low voltage (UM) during a motor step, the method provides that the windings (1) of the stepping motor are always supplied with a constant energy quantity, which is required for a motor step, while the first, high voltage (UM) is applied, by varying the application time as a function of the time response of the first high voltage (UM). In this case, it is assumed that the time response of the first high voltage (UM) can be used to derive a variable which is proportional to the energy quantity already supplied to the windings (1) of the stepping motor. <IMAGE>
