Abstract

The water rotates in a round basin. There is a screen with a conveyor arrangement, at the surface of the water, to collect the algae and convey it to the perimeter of the basin. The contaminated water contains dissolved material such as nitrogen and phosphorus. It enters via one or more tangentially directed pipes and to leave the centre via pipe. The moving chain has downward pointing pins on which the algae collects. The algae is transported to the vessel which has a pump to pump the algae to a central collecting tank.
