Abstract

A tooth adapter (1) for an excavator digging tooth is provided, at its forward end (4) reaching outside the shovel blade (3), with a wedge-shaped portion (5) with which a complementary wedge-shaped recess in a tooth point is adapted to engage when the tooth point is in its fixed position. The wedge-shaped portion is on both sides (14, 15) provided with a longitudinally extending projection (16 and 17 respectively) which engage with complementary, longitudinally extending recesses in the wedge-shaped recess of the tooth point. The tooth point at its rear end facing the tooth adapter is provided on both sides with a backwardly directed angular projection which engage with complementary angular recess (25, 26) in the tooth adapter. <IMAGE>
