Abstract

The present invention relates to a tool intended to facilitate fitting of skirting boards which have two side surfaces and two edge surfaces. One side surface and one edge surface of the skirting board are intended, after fitting, to be directed towards a wall or adjoin a floor or a ceiling. The characteristic of the invention is that the tool comprises an elongate shaft 1 whose one end is designed as a handle 2 and whose other end is designed with a holder 3 which is adapted or can be adapted to the dimensions of the skirting board 4. The holder comprises two members 7, 8 between which the board 4 is intended to be securely clamped. Of these members, the one 7 which is intended to bear against the wall side of the board 4 is plate-shaped and of stiff material with small thickness, so that the board 4, upon fitting, comes to lie near the wall. The other member 8, which is intended to bear against the opposite side of the board 4, has an elastic surface 9 facing said board, which ensures that a hammer blow against said member 8 for fixing the board 4 does not cause marks to appear in the latter. <IMAGE>
