Abstract

A laminated resilient bearing (11) and its method of manufacture are provided herein in which a plurality of alternating layers of elastomeric material (17,39) and composite material (19,41) extending radially outwardly relative to the longitudinal axis of the bearing are bonded together in an integral co-curing operation. Each of the composite layers includes a plurality of individual layers of matrix impregnated filamentary material wrapped, preferably in an alternating circumferential-spiral-circumferential pattern, around the preceding elastomeric layer. The composite layers take the place of the prior art shims. <IMAGE>
