Abstract

A wall system for the construction of buildings comprises an inner sheet steel facing panel (15) having a base (16) and two side walls (17) extending along opposite substantially parallel side edges of the base and defining a recess (18) with the base. A sheet (20) of thermal and acoustic insulation material is located in the recess (18) of the inner panel. An outer sheet steel facing panel (21) having corrugations (22) running in a direction substantially perpendicular to the side edges of the base is secured to the inner panel (15) by fixing to flanges (19) at the ends of the side walls (17) of the inner panel. Air in the gap between the corrugated panel (21) and the sheet (20) is heated by the sun and is carried into the building by a ducting system. <IMAGE>
