Abstract

The invention relates to a process for igniting a gas-generating propellant-charge cartridge, loaded with propellant-charge powder in the form of loosely introduced particles, by means of a powder tube which is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the powder charge and which ignites along its inner cylindrical surface, so that, when it breaks as a result of its own increased internal pressure, it causes a simultaneous radial ignition along the entire length of the propellant charge. The invention relates, furthermore, to a propellant-charge cartridge which is constructed in accordance with the processes described.
