Abstract

The door hinge arrangement consists of two mountings (1, 1), viz one at the upper edge of the door in question and one at the lower edge of the door. In one of the side walls of each mounting two transversely extending slots (6 and 7) are provided. The slots (6 and 7) serve to engage pivots (8 and 9) secured to the upper and lower frame of the door in question. A trapping member (12) is movably arranged in each of the mountings (1) and each trapping member is at both ends provided with a Y-shaped guiding groove (18, 20, 21, 22, 23). The side branches of the Y-shaped guiding grooves open at opposite sides of the trapping member (12). No matter whether the door is opened by pivoting in one or the other direction about one or the other side edge of the door, the pivots positioned at the side edge of the door which is not being opened will be locked by cooperation between the transversely extending slots (6 and 7) and the Y- shaped guiding grooves (18, 20, 21, 22, 23) in such a way that the hinge arrangement may be used universally. <IMAGE>
