Abstract
The invention relates to the field of powder metallurgy and especially to a sintered iron-based friction material. According to the invention, zinc sulphide is introduced into the composition for a sintered iron-based friction material, the amounts of the various components of the material being as follows: 1.5-3.0 wt-% of copper, 1.0-2.0 wt-% of tin, 2.0-4.0 wt-% of zinc sulphide, 6.0-10.0 wt-% of graphite, 2.0-5.0 wt-% of a pyroceramic material, and 10.0-20.0 wt-% of lead, the rest being iron.
