Abstract

A fastening element comprises a bolt (4) threaded at either end, the lower end threadably engaging a stop nut (7) against which an elliptical anchor disk (2) is forced by a sleeve (10) under the influence of a nut threadably engaging the upper end of the bolt, as the element is anchored in position. Anchor disk (2) has a perforation through which the bolt (4) passes. The major diameter of the anchor disk (2) is greater than the diameter of the bore hole such that edges of the anchor disk (2) are urged against and into the bore hole wall as the anchor disk (2) is pressed between the nut (7) and sleeve (10).
