Abstract

The invention provides a combination of inhibitors which effectively prevents corrosion in automotive cooling systems containing antifreeze solution based on water-soluble alcohols. The combination includes 0.5 to 2.5% by weight of sodium tetraborate, 0.5 to 2.5% by weight of sodium benzoate, 0.05 to 1.0% by weight of sodium metaborate, 0.02 to 0.8% by weight of sodium metasilicate and 0.05 to 0.6% by weight of tolytriazole and benzotriazole.
