Abstract

A releasable coupling device 2 comprises a housing 10 having pivotally mounted therein about horizontal axes a driving finger 12 and a latch lever 13, said latch lever normally holding the drive finger to engage a conveyor cart, wherein the driving finger and latch lever as so arranged and constructed as to allow the driving finger to be pivoted upwardly and forwardly of the direction of travel 5 of the conveyor carts. Such coupling devices will allow, if necessary, the conveyor carts to be disengaged therefrom and to be moved faster than by the towing chain. <IMAGE>
