Abstract

The invention relates to the use of a specially constructed elastic element 60, 66 for anchoring floating landing stages, buoys 64, and the like 50 to a stationary bottom anchor 58, 68, whereby said elastic element is subjected to a stretching stress. The elastic element has the property of becoming progressively ever stiffer at increasing elongation and consists of a core of an elastomeric material, a reinforcement wound helically about the core and consisting of a material less elongatable than the elastomeric material of the core, and an outer covering layer of an elastomeric material. The progressivity is obtained in that the reinforcement is wound around the core at a reinforcement angle of 50- 65 degrees between the longitudinal axis of the core and the reinforcement projected at right angles thereto. <IMAGE>
