Abstract

A high pressure spray gun for airless atomization of liquid spray material, has a spray material valve (12) comprising a seat member (25) provided with a tubular extension (26) the annular end surface of which forms a seat (27) for sealing engagement with a movable valve member (33) which comprises a flat contact surface (38) for co-operation with the seat member (25), and a connection head (37) which forms a part of a universal joint for coupling together the valve member (33) and actuating rod (40). A proper alignment between the contact surfaces (27, 38) is thus ensured. The rod 40 is connected to piston (44) of actuator (13), Fig. 1 (not shown). The members (25) and (33) may be of tungsten carbide. <IMAGE>
