Abstract

By means of a rangefinder (2), the distance to the projectile is measured at at least one point (A, B) of its trajectory. A computer (3) is used and a fixed point in space is assumed. The muzzle velocity is determined by the computer on the basis of the information relating to the distance between the fixed point and at least two points of the projectile on its trajectory and the information relating to the time interval between the projectile positions at these points. <IMAGE>
