Abstract
1510587 TiO 2 -coated glass SAINT-GOBAIN INDUSTRIES 17 May 1976 [16 May 1975] 20279/76 Heading CIM A TiO 2 coating is applied to a glass surface by applying to the surface, at elevated temperature (e.g. 500-700‹C.), a solution of at least two compounds selected from titanium acetylacetonate, titanium methyl acetoacetate, titanium ethyl acetoacetate, titanium tetraoctylene glycol and titanium triethanolamine. The said compounds preferably constitute 5-80% (by volume) of the solution. The solvent is preferably an organic solvent boiling at at least 100‹C. (many examples given). The solution may also include compounds (e.g. acetylacetonates) of other metals (e.g. Fe, Co, Ni, Cr). The solution may be sprayed on to float glass or bottles.
