Abstract
1488540 Paper-making machines VALMET OY 23 Dec 1975 [30 Dec 1974] 52539/75 Heading D2A In a twin-wire forming section of a papermaking machine pulp is fed from a headbox 1 to a first single-wire run 5 of a first wire 2. This is followed by a twin-wire run 6 guided by a forming cylinder 4 which has both suction and pressure zones 7, 8. The web is then carried on a second single-wire run 10 on a second wire 3 from whence it is transferred, e.g. to a press section. In another embodiment (Fig. 2 not shown) the twin-wire run 6 curves upwardly around the forming cylinder 4 and the wires 2, 3 separate as the first wire 2 leaves the forming cylinder. Conventional dewatering devices such as suction boxes 11 and foils 12 are provided.
