Abstract

It is previously known to join construction blocks, which comprise two plane major faces and four edge faces, which construction blocks are joined along an edge face of each block, abutting each other, by means of a profile having a web and flanges, and at least the flanges being made of sheet metal. To improve this technique in order to reduce the number of profiles joining the construction blocks and to obtain higher security of the supporting functions against the combination of longitudinal and lateral forces, one web side (7) of the profile (8) is positioned against one edge face of one construction block (1), and a flange (11), which protrudes perpendicularly from the web (7), is mechanically engaged in the major face of the construction block, and the length of this engagement corresponds to at least a portion of the length of the longitudinal extension of the edge face. One edge face of the second construction block (2) is placed adjacent to the other side of the web (7), and a flange (9), which protrudes perpendicularly from the web (7), is mechanically engaged in the same way in the major face (5) of the second construction block (2), the latter major face being on the opposite side of the construction block with respect to the engaged face of the first construction block (1).

Description

511 661 Figure 4 shows a cross section through two building blocks connected to the profile according to the invention. Figure 5 shows a modification of a step in joining two building blocks with the profile according to the invention.

Figure 1 thus shows two building blocks of e.g. expanded plastic 10 joined according to a known method. Building blocks 1 and 2 are constructed, each with its edge side abutting along the dashed line 3. Building blocks 1 and 2 each have their shown large side 4 and 4 ', respectively. On the large sides, a U-beam 3 'has been laid over the dashed line 3, the flanges 6 and 6' of which are inserted into grooves in the storyboards 4 and 4 'of the building blocks, respectively. On opposite storyboards, 15 correspondingly designed U-beams have been laid. By means of the two U-beams, the two building blocks 1 and 2 are thus mechanically connected so that they cannot be pulled apart. The joining of the two building blocks can be improved by gluing the life of the U-profiles to the large sides.

Figure 2 now shows the method according to the invention. As before, the two building blocks 4 and 5 are laid against each other along the dashed line 3 with thus two opposite edge sides next to each other. Between the edge sides now lies the web 7 of a sheet metal profile 8. This sheet metal profile 8 has in cross-section approximately Z-shape. A flange 9 extending to the left in the figure from one longitudinal edge of the web 7, abuts against the large side 5. The flange is 2 at its free edge bent inwards into the building block so that a flap 10 is formed. This flap engages in a groove in the large side 5 of the block. From the second longitudinal edge of the web 7 a flange 11 is extended which abuts against the rear large side of the block 1 according to figure 2.

This flange 11 also has a folded tab 12 which lies in a busy groove in the rear large side of the block 1. As a result, the two blocks are now joined by means of the sheet metal profile, but it may be possible for the blocks to pivot relative to each other. Normally, however, the blocks are erected with the sheet metal profile standing when walls of a building are erected and thereby support the blocks with their sub- 23447A. DOC; 1998-10-30 10 15 20 25 30 35 5515156561 derkanter in a U-profile or equivalent. The blocks can also be further stabilized either by gluing the edge sides to the web 7 of the sheet metal profile or by using some form of screw joint arranged in such a way that screws extend obliquely through the blocks from a large side and into the web of the sheet metal profile.

Figure 3 now shows the sheet metal profile according to the invention in perspective view. It appears that the web 7 has the two flanges 9 and 11, respectively, which are extended at a 90 ° angle from the web and in opposite directions from the respective edge of the web. Each flange then has its end edge folded so that it forms its own longitudinal flap 10 and 12. It is the flaps 10 and 12 which are inserted in grooves initially occupied in the storytellers of the blocks. The dimensions of the sheet metal profile are preferably such that the height of the web corresponds to the thickness of the respective blocks and the length of the web corresponds to the length of the edge sides of the block, i.e. normally the height of the building block when this forms a wall in a building. The width of the flanges 9 and 11 is about half the height of the web and the extent of the flaps down into the building blocks is about one third of the height of the web. The values now specified are intended guideline values.

To reduce the heat conduction across the longitudinal extent of the life, slots 13 of triangular shape can be accommodated. These can be arranged so that they are zigzagged so that straight material lines from one edge of the profile to the other are interrupted.

Figure 4 shows a cross section through the joint area between two building blocks 1 and 2. It is clear from this picture that the grooves are taken up in the large sides of the building blocks for the insertion of the flaps 10 and 12, respectively. By means of the dashed line 14 is schematically illustrated how a screw connection can applied to improve the cohesion between the blocks e.g. in the case where the building blocks are planned and e.g. forms a roof in a building.

I figur 5 visas två byggblock i särat läge strax innan de skall sammanföras. I byggblocket 1 visas skåran 15 i vilken fliken 10 23447A. Figure 5 shows two building blocks in a disassembled position just before they are to be joined. In the building block 1, the groove 15 is shown in which the tab 10 23447A. DOC; 1998-10-30 10 15 20 25 30 511 661 shall be introduced. The underside of the building blocks is coated with a cladding panel 16 which at the right-hand end of the figure covers the sheet metal profile 8 already applied there, but which leaves the story surface free in the area where the tab 10 of the second sheet metal profile is to be inserted.

Beklädnadsskivan 16 sträcker sig således fram till skàran 15.The cladding panel 16 thus extends up to the notch 15.

On the upper side of the block 1 is a flexible cladding board 17 with the possibility of welding joints. This covers at its right end in the figure the flange ll of the sheet metal profile and extends a certain distance past the story surface and so far that when the blocks are joined together it covers the life of the sheet metal profile on the adjacent block. A good tight building construction is obtained in this way, which is also stable and is easy to work with to give a good surface finish to the construction.

2344715.. DOC; .1998-10-30Within the scope of the inventive idea, the sheet metal profile in particular can be varied. Thus, the mechanical design of the sheet metal profile that causes the flanges to be anchored in the large sides of the building blocks can be varied. The figures show a longitudinal tab 10 and 12, respectively, which extend along the entire length of the sheet metal profile. It is possible not to have a flap with a full extent, but instead of a flap, wedge-shaped tips or similar or smaller flaps can be bent down or arranged. It is also possible to punch out protrusions in the flanges, e.g. in the form of triangles that shoot down into the large sides of the building blocks. The important thing for the function is that some form of mechanical connection takes place between the flanges and the large sides of the building blocks so that tensile stresses can be detected between two blocks from each other. Or in other words, the plate profile must be anchored to the edge side of the building block with the help of its flange. The building blocks can be of other material than plastic and e.g. aerated concrete or other mass. Furthermore, the sheet metal profile can be a composite profile where e.g. the waist is of some kind of fibreboard while the flanges are of sheet metal and attached to the waist by some form of joint. 2344715 ..
