Abstract
Description
Length, going perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and substantially congruent with the first-mentioned end surface, pressed against the rear end surface and splicing is obtained. Such a splicing can take place against a residual sleeve or against a larger length, in the extreme case against an entire, previous sleeve length. This gives very strong sleeves even at the joints, and essentially no scrap is obtained. Should an end face have a damaged shape or deviate from a plane, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve, one can easily cut a thin disc to get the right end face, and such a disc is insignificant in relation to the above-mentioned residual sleeves, i.e. only an insignificant scrap problem. The invention also comprises a device for carrying out this method.
Drawings: The invention is further exemplified in the accompanying figures, of which figure 1 shows a device according to the invention and the method of working, figure 2 shows an unsuitable joint according to prior art and figure 3 a joint obtained by the invention.
Exemplary embodiment: The device according to the invention is shown in figure 1. 1 is a magazine for one-piece feeders for sleeves with raw length, above and in the claims called sleeve lengths, intended to be cut into sleeves. 2 is a machine stand and 3 is an input side with a pusher. 4 is a gluing station and 5 a cutting station. 6 is a drive device with a part 6.1 on the application side and a part 6.2 on the discharge side. These, i.a. at the residual sleeve, are intended to rotate the residual sleeve resp. sleeve length, and this 502 067 3 can be disconnected, for example at its drive means. 7 is the output side with linear stop and continuous measurement, for example computerized. 8 is a dispenser with magazine for pre-cut sleeves.
Pushern 3 står här i sitt bakre läge. Limningsstationen 4 är förvärmd till rätt temperatur. Ett ingående munstycke står i sitt bakre läge.The method according to the invention is started by filling in a sleeve length on the entrance side. The pusher 3 is here in its rear position. The gluing station 4 is preheated to the correct temperature. An inlet nozzle is in its rear position.
Utgángssidans 7 utmatare står i sitt nedre läge. The blade arm of the cutting station is in its upper position, as are the upper stops (6.1 and 6.2). The linear stop of the output side is set to the dimension that corresponds to the desired sleeve length after cutting. The output side of the output side 7 is in its lower position. A control system may have been provided with information on cutting lengths.
After the machine operator has pressed start, a sleeve length is inserted in the feeder in the center line of the machine in front of the pusher 3. This then pushes the sleeve length towards the stop side 7 stop, and the sleeve length is now fixed between the two stops (6.1 and 6.2). The upper stop (6.l) goes down and the rotation of the sleeve starts. The cutting station 5 performs a complete work stroke, which means application to the periphery of the sleeve length, rotation of the sleeve one turn and return to rest position. A cut has now been completed, and the pre-cut sleeve is placed in its magazine 8.
This procedure is repeated until the front sleeve length is completed and a residual sleeve remains. To this extent, the pusher 3 moves this sleeve to a standby position in the gluing station 4, backs to its home position and a new sleeve length is inserted in the one-piece feeder. The new sleeve length is now pushed forward to the gluing station 4, the upper stop (6.2) goes down on the periphery of the residual sleeve and starts the rotation of the residual sleeve, at the same time as the glue piece reaches its working position. During rotation, the adhesive is now applied one turn to the rear end surface of the residual sleeve, the adhesive piece backs, after which the entrance side pusher 3 joins the substantially congruent end surfaces and puts them under pressure, preferably for a maximum of 10 seconds.
After this, the usual cutting operations can be repeated, and strong support sleeves are also obtained at the splicing points.
For splicing the sleeve end surfaces, hot melt adhesive is used, where the parameters of the adhesive assembly 4 for temperature and quantity can be adjusted for optimal strength and degree of filling. The adhesive is applied with one and the same nozzle for the same sleeve dimensions as peripheral speed and wall thickness are essentially the same. Because the material in the sleeves is cardboard or similar material, ie a number of superimposed layers, the glue is quickly absorbed in the end surfaces and adheres quickly to the compression. You get a strong joint even with a relatively small amount of glue.
A joint obtained in the prior art is shown in Figure 2. Figure 3 shows a joint obtained by the method according to the invention. The latter has a strength, approximately corresponding to a sleeve cut at the side of the joints.
