Abstract

The coupling comprises a male component (1) which can be screwed into and out of the female component (2). The cylindrical part of the male component is provided with at least one longitudinal slot (10). The threaded part of the female component (2) has threads, the tops of which are bevelled so that the figure described by the threads when the female component rotates is a blunt cone.

A retractable coupling device comprising a male and a female member, characterized in that both male (1) and female members (2) have a substantially cylindrical portion which is provided with threads, whereby the male member (1) can be screwed in. in and out of the female member (2), that the substantially cylindrical portion (5) of the male member (1) is provided with at least one longitudinal slot (10) and that the threaded portion of the female member (2) has threads whose tops are chamfered so that a figure which is circumscribed by the threads upon rotation of the female member is constituted by a truncated cone.

Coupling device according to claim 1, wherein the female member has an open end for receiving the male member, characterized in that the chamfering of the threaded tips in the female member (2) increases in the direction of the open end of the female member (3).

Coupling device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the female member (2) has a substantially cylindrical portion outside the threaded portion, which first portion is provided with at least one longitudinal slot (12).

Coupling device according to claim 3, characterized in that the number of slots (10) in the male member (1) is two, which have a diametrically opposite location, and in that the male member (1) has a bracket (6) for a rope (8), which bracket is provided with projections (9) for co-operation with the slot (12) in the female member (2).

Coupling device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the threaded portion (5) of the male member (1) has a chamfer (11) which extends along the threaded portion (5) and is largest at the outer part of the threaded portion.

Coupling device according to claim 5, characterized in that chamfers (11) are arranged at two diametrically opposite portions of the cylindrical part (5) and preferably at the slots (10).
