Zipper half, comprising on the one hand a carrying strap (15; 35) and on the other hand a series of continuous fastening means (16; 38) made of thermoplastic, synthetic resin material and arranged at and along a longitudinal edge of the carrying strap (15; 35), which fastening means (16 ; 38) each has a pair of legs (17, 18; 43, 44), partly a reinforcing member (19; 37), which extends along the row of continuous connecting members (16; 38) (16:38), and partly sewing threads (20; 36), which attach the hook means and the reinforcing means to the carrier tape, characterized in that the carrier tape (15; 35), the reinforcing member (19; 37) and the sewing threads (20; 36) all contain thermoplastic synthetic fibers, that a cutting edge (34) is formed, in which the carrier tape (15; 35), one of the rows of hook means (16, 38), the reinforcing member (19; 37) and the sewing threads (20; 36) are all fused together, so that the sewing threads (20; 36) and the carrying strap (15; 35) jointly encloses and retains one of the legs of the hook members (16; 38) at the cutting edge (34), and that first the recognition means (19; 37) and the carrying strap (15; 35) jointly encloses and retains the other leg of the hook members (16; 38) at the cutting edge.

Zipper half according to claim 1, characterized in that the reinforcing member consists of a bridle (19; 37), which is arranged at one side of the continuous hook members (16; 38), which is facing away from the carrying strap (15; 35), wherein the bridle extends around and retains said hook means at the cutting edge (34).

Zipper half according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the cutting edge (34) has a substantially flat surface (40), which is inclined relative to the plane of the carrying strap (15; 35).

Zipper half according to claim 3, characterized in that the carrying strap (15; 35) and the sewing threads (20; 36) extend at an angle to the bridle (19; 37) at said flat surface.

5. A zipper half according to claim 1, characterized in that the carrier belt (15; 35) has a molten cutting edge with a substantially flat surface which is inclined relative to the plane of the carrier belt.
