Abstract

The ophthalmic inserts containing hydroxypropylcellulose as carrier material are particularly effective because they dissolve slowly but completely in water so that they can be used for the production of suitable compositions for prolonged treatment of the eye with, at the same time, a reduction in the dosage frequency.
