Abstract

1,029,761. Rollers. SVENSKA FLAKT-FABRIKEN. A.B. March 11, 1964 [March 19, 1963], No. 10366/64. Heading F2U. A web-turning device 1 comprises a hollow cylinder mounted on stub shafts 3, one of which is shown, in stationary bearings (not shown) on a horizontal or vertical axis. One end of the device has eyelid-shaped apertures 5 while the remainder has small round apertures 6. Each set of apertures is fed with air at different pressures from separate spaces 8 and 7 within the cylinder. A chamber 11 surrounds the end and is divided by a partition 12 into a high pressure part 13 communicating with the space 8 and a low pressure part 14 communicating with the space 7 via a tube 9 mounted in an opening 15 in the partition 12. The tube 9 may extend along the full length of the device and have openings (not shown) in the low pressure part of the cylinder for even distribution of the air supply.
