Abstract

Lubricant compositions contain as corrosion inhibitors an alkali metal nitrite and a N-carboxymethyl - alkenyl - succinamic acid. The alkenyl group of the acid may contain 8-35 carbon atoms, e.g. tetrapropenyl. The lubricants may be a calcium/lead-acetate complex grease.
