Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method and an on-board charging system (1) for a material handling vehicle (2) with a charging connector (11) adapted to be connected to an external charger (10) for charging a battery (22). The battery (22) is arranged to provide power for propulsion of the vehicle (2). The on-board charging system (1) comprises a control unit (32) and an on-board charger (21) with a first DC/DC unit (23a) arranged between the charging connector (11) and the battery (22). The on-board charging system (1) is configured to enable charging of the battery (22) at a lower voltage level than an output voltage level (Vc) of the external charger (10).
