Abstract

ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to an alarm unit (1 ) for promoting healthy sleeping and Waking up routines, said alarm unit (1) comprising a housing (4) formed by: a lower housing part (2) configured for accommodating electronics components for said alarm unit (1 ); an upper housing part (3) configured for attaching to said lower housing part (2); a circuit board (8) with a control unit positioned within the housing (4); and an alarm signal unit (13) being configured for generating an alarm signal as controlled by said control unit. The alarm unit (1) is arranged to prevent the activation of said alarm signal unit (13), from generating an alarm signal, upon completion of at least one predetermined activity carried out by a user for improving or promoting said sleeping routines. The disclosure also relates to a method for operating an alarm unit (1) of the above-mentioned type.

Claims (25)

Claims
1. An alarm unit (1) for promoting healthy sleeping and waking up routines, said alarm unit (1) comprising a housing (4) formed by: a lower housing part (2) configured for accommodating electronics components for said alarm unit (1); an upper housing part (3) configured for attaching to said lower housing part (2); a circuit board (8) with a control unit positioned within the housing (4); and an alarm signal unit (13) being configured for generating an alarm signal as controlled by said control unit; characterized in that said alarm unit (1) is arranged to prevent the activation of said alarm signal unit (13) from generating an alarm signal, upon completion of at least one predetermined activity carried out by a user for improving or promoting said sleeping and waking up routines.
2. Alarm unit (1) according to claim 1, wherein the alarm unit (1) is configured both for preventing the actuation of said alarm signal unit (13) during a waking-up procedure and also for preventing the actuation of said alarm signal unit (13) during a procedure for falling asleep.

An alarm unit (1) according to claim 1 or 2, wherein said alarm unit (1) comprises a communication unit (10) communicating with an external unit (23) and being arranged to prevent actuation or initiate deactivation of said alarm signal unit (13) only when said user has completed at least one predetermined waking-up process or a process for falling asleep.

An alarm unit (1) according to claim 3, wherein the control unit (9) is configured for recognizing at least one of the following processes as a waking-up activity which allows deactivation of the alarm signal unit (13): - a user has moved to a pre-determined position; - a user has transmitted information relating to images from said external unit indicating a position; - a user has performed a pre-determined pattern of movements; - a user has scanned a predetermined visual code; P10477SE 2023-07-- a user has entered a pre-determined sequence of characters in said external unit; and - a user has performed a pre-determined physical workout process. - a user has placed the mobile device on top of the alarm unit causing a built-in metal detector to detect the metal in the mobile device. - a user has made the bed and the mobile unit has detected the made bed by the mobile unit camera and image recognition technology.

An alarm unit (1) according to claim 1 or 2, wherein said alarm unit (1) comprises a communication unit (10) communicating with an external unit and being arranged to prevent actuation or allow deactivation of said alarm signal unit (13) only when said user has completed at least one predetermined activity for falling asleep.

An alarm unit (1) according to claim 5, wherein the control unit (9) is configured for recognizing at least one of the following processes as a falling-asleep activity which allows deactivation of the alarm signal unit (13): - a user keeps screen usage of said external unit (23) at a level which is lower than a specified limit; - a user limits the use of at least one predetermined application in the external unit (23) to a predetermined time period; and -the external unit (23) is positioned with its screen facing down on a support surface.
7. An alarm unit (1) according to any one of claims 3-6, wherein the external unit (23) is constituted by a mobile unit such as a mobile phone, a mobile smart watch, a tablet computer or a similar device.
8. An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the alarm signal unit (13) is a sound-generating unit configured for generating an alarm sound at a set time.
9. An alarm unit (1) according to any one of claims 1-7, wherein the alarm signal unit is a light-generating unit (22) configured for generating a light signal at a set time.
P10477SE 2023-07-10. An alarm unit (1) according to claim 9, wherein said light-generating unit (22) is configured for producing a light signal in the form of a simulated sunrise.

An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said lower housing part (2) is provided with external threads (6) which are arranged to cooperate with corresponding external threads (7) in said upper housing part (3) for attaching the lower housing part (2) to the upper housing part (3).

An alarm unit (1) according to claim 11, wherein a locking pin (29) is configured for extending through the external threads (6) of the lower housing part (2) and into an opening (18) in the external threads (7) of the upper housing part (3), thereby preventing the lower housing part (2) and the upper housing part (3) from being separated.
13. An alarm unit (1) according to claim 12, wherein the locking pin (29) is associated with an electrical solenoid (24) which can be unlocked when the alarm unit (1) is deactivated, thereby allowing the lower housing part (2) and the upper housing part (3) to be separated.
14. An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the lower housing part (2) is provided with a number of supporting elements (20) positioned on the underside of said lower housing part (2) for defining a gap between the housing and a support surface.

An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the lower housing part (2) is configured for attaching to a support surface (28) by means of an attachment element (15), the underside of which is provided with an adhesive element (21 ) for fastening to said support surface (28).
16. An alarm unit (1) according to claim 15, wherein said attachment device (12) is formed with a vertically arranged screw (13) which extends through said lower housing part (2) and the circuit board (8).

An alarm unit (1) according to any of claims 1-14, wherein the lower housing part (2) is configured for attaching to a wall structure (25) or other solid element by means of a hole P10477SE 2023-07-(17) extending through said alarm unit (1) and being adapted for an element (26) for attaching to said wall structure (25) or solid element.
18. An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein a metal detector is arranged within said housing (4).
19. An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein a communication unit (10) is arranged in said circuit board (8) and configured for providing communication between said control unit and said external unit (23).
20. An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the control unit (9) is configured with a function for disabling the alarm signal unit (13) if a fee is paid by the user.

An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the alarm unit (1) is arranged to prevent the activation of said alarm signal unit (13) from generating an alarm signal upon completion of two or more predetermined activities carried out by a user for improving or promoting said sleeping and Waking up routines, said activities being carried out in a predetermined order and according to a predetermined time schedule.
22. An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, where the “fall asleep activity” can be configured to be linked to the “Waking-up activity” and automatically start at a predefined amount of time before the “Waking-up activity” starts.
23. An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, where the system can be configured in such a way that the alarm can not be deactivated a predefined amount of time before the alarm starts.
24. An alarm unit (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, where the system can be configured in such a way that the “Waking-up activity/activities” can begin to be completed by the user a certain amount of time before the alarm is set to start, but not earlier than that.

A method for controlling an alarm unit (1 ), wherein said alarm unit (1) comprises a housing (4) formed by: P10477SE 2023-07-a lower housing part (2) configured for accommodating electronics components for said alarm unit (1); an upper housing part (3) configured for attaching to said lower housing part (2); a circuit board (8) with a control unit positioned within the housing (4); and 5 an alarm signal unit (13) being configured for generating an alarm signal as controlled by said control unit; characterized in that said method comprises a step of preventing the activation of said alarm signal unit (13) for generating an alarm signal, upon completion of at least one predetermined activity carried out by a user for improving or promoting said sleeping 10 routines.
