Abstract

The process involves generating an oil mist (3) and conducting the mist to an activated ignition device (14) having a spark gap (15), for an inflammation period, by an electric power supply (16) supplied by a voltage circuit (17). The inflammation period is subdivided into two segments. The ignition device (14) is activated on one segment, with a lower electric power than on the other segment. An Independent claim is also included for an ignition device for a group of oil burners.
