Abstract

The foot for a car roof rack has connecting sections (17) which fit under a plate mounted on a profiled rail (8, 12) running along the length of the roof. A bolt (26) which fits through a bore in a locking plate (24) mounted in a recess in the profiled rail prevents the foot from sliding along the rail when the car suddenly accelerates or brakes.
